Bean Chair

Bean Chair is a, 40" x 20" x 30", custom designed and built alternative rocking chair. The development of this piece was to demonstrate simplicity, and the ability to create custom, never-before-seen, furniture. The out of the box mindset, and my craftsmanship, grants me the ability to create quality products that challenge the status-quo; trying to remain in the forefront of furniture design. Made of bent birch ply and mild steel, this chair can support plenty of weight. It occupies our basement living space where it is mostly used while I fold laundry or play the guitar. This piece, since these images were taken, has actually undergone some 'maintenance.' I used a router and cut a rabbet along all of its edges and inlayed a piece of hardwood birch. It really looks amazing. Updated images of that rewarding work are coming soon.
